Unit 2 Reflection

  1. For me the really interesting thing in this chapter was get to know some of CCNY history, about strikes and racism movements that been here over 100 years ago. As an international student I had no idea about it and even students that come from New York didn’t know that.
  2. Maybe better understand is not correct word for this but I really started thinking more about racism. I want to get to know more about this topic.
  3. I was thinking about it and that things are being discovered while learning, if we learn about some topic and we get interest to it, we will ask ourselves a question “what if…?”. So to answer the question I don’t really know for that moment.
  4. I’m the most proud of research I did for Rhetorical Analysis essay. I’ve been researching information for that topic for really long time.
  5. To be honest maybe I would change the topic, because now I think that was kinda controversial. I’m not sure was it right.
  6. I would give me a solid 9/10 because like I always say “always can be better”.
  7. Research that’s the most powerful thing and it good research really helps.
  8. Those units were kinda similar in my opinion, and I really enjoy it, I really enjoy this class.
  9. I have absolutely no idea.
  10. I think every resource we could have we actually had. Internet is the most powerful resource and we had it. Books, screenshots of books pages, we had that.
  11. I won’t say about things to change but thinks I like in this class. It’s connection, talking personally with every student and than describing this thoughts to the class.
  12. At today’s classes we had really interesting topic, we’ve mentioned many of topics that we don’t understand and we could talk about them in future classes.

  1. Yeah! I forget if I said this in class, but apart from the fact that I think City College’s history is really interesting, one reason it’s important to me to have those discussions is how meaningful I found it in college to learn about the history of my own school and the city that it’s in. It helped me feel more connected to the place and think critically and thoughtfully about my role as a student within the community. This has also been important to me since I moved to New York 4 years ago, getting to know a new place (and its history) as a new resident.

  2. There are many things that I’ve learned from this unit, and it has taught me a lot. Even my speaking has improved. I have used rhetorical devices, quotes, and sentences when talking to people.

In my opinion, I want to learn how business people talk about and negotiate money!

I’m the most proud of the “I No LongerBelieve” essay because there was something that, from the start, I did not know what I was going to write about until I actually thought of something.

There are many things I could do or think about better before committing to them. I always have this motivation in me that tells me, “This will all be worth it at the end, if you put your mind to it.” That’s why I’ve worked hard on the “I No Longer Believe” essay and just put my mind to it.

My professors are kind and sometimes bad at explaining certain subjects, but Professor Olivia made all the assignments clear and explained what this class was going to be like this whole semester.

I have done some research through my school years, but overall, the “I No Longer Believe” assignment was good.

There is some stuff on my mind right now that I would like to do in 2nd Unit, and that is learn how to do deep research on a topic that I don’t know much about, and that is way different from what I did with the “I No Longer Believe Essay.” I’m curious how this will play out during this unit.

In my opinion, the best support I have is my phone, because I’ve used it to communicate with other people and ask them questions like, “What is a better way to understand this assignment?” or “What are we supposed to do for this assignment”

In general, all of my college professors are nice people, but not Professor Oliva. She is more clear when it comes to explaining an assignment and is transparent and honest when it comes to assignments.

One of my favorite assignments was the “I No Longer Believe” assignment. I learned a lot, and the skills I’ve learned from this have moved forward to other classes of mine.
